Inversion Based on Complex Computational Simulations

چکیده
Experimental data often can only be interpreted by means of a computational simulation that approximately models the physical situation. We will discuss techniques that facilitate application to complex, large-scale simulations of the standard approach to inversion in which gradient-based optimization is used to nd the parameters that best match the data. The fundamental enabling techniques are adjoint di erentiation to efciently compute the gradient of an objective function with respect to all the variables of a simulation and relatively new gradient-based optimization algorithms. These techniques will be illustrated through the simulation of the time-dependent di usion of infrared light through tissue, which has been used to perform optical tomography [1]. The techniques discussed have a wide range of applicability to modeling including the optimization of models to achieve a desired design goal.

In this article, we will show the complex inversion formula for the inversion of the L2-transform and also some applications of the L2, and Post Widder transforms for solving singular integral equation with trigonometric kernel. Finally, we obtained analytic solution for a partial differential equation with non-constant coefficients.
متن کامل4D geomechanical simulations for field development planning
3D and 4D geomechanical can be time-consuming to build and calibrate. However, once such a model is built, it is relative straightforward to use this model for various field development and management applications. In so doing, the return on the initial investment of time and effort in the creation of a 4D geomechanical model can be substantial. I present a case study where a 4D geomechanical m...
متن کاملCracking Elements Method for Simulating Complex Crack Growth
The cracking elements method (CEM) is a novel numerical approach for simulating fracture of quasi-brittle materials. This method is built in the framework of conventional finite element method (FEM) based on standard Galerkin approximation, which models the cracks with disconnected cracking segments. The orientation of propagating cracks is determined by local criteria and no explicit or implic...
متن کاملVelocity Inversion with an Iterative Normal Incidence Point (NIP) Wave Tomography with Model-Based Common Diffraction Surface (CDS) Stack
Normal Incidence Point (NIP) wave tomography inversion has been recently developed to generate a velocity model using Common Reflection Surface (CRS) attributes, which is called the kinematic wavefield attribute. In this paper, we propose to use the model based Common Diffraction Surface (CDS) stack method attributes instead of data driven Common Reflection Surface attributes as an input data p...
